Action for Society

My commitment to serving the Tamil community began at a very young age and has continued with the same sincerity and purpose throughout my life. Even in middle school, I actively taught Tamil reading and writing to elderly individuals through the Arivoli Iyakkam literacy movement, helping those who never had the opportunity to learn our language.

From early service to community leadership today, my journey has always been rooted in giving back, empowering others, and strengthening our Tamil identity.

  • For over five years, I have been deeply committed to advancing Tamil language education and cultural awareness. In my current role as Vice Principal and Teacher at Cheshire Tamil Palli, I lead academic programs and coordinate cultural events that foster engagement among students, parents, and the broader community.

  • Additionally, I serve as Director of Avvaiyar Padasalai, the first virtual Tamil school in North America, enabling global access to Tamil education for learners in need.

  • I actively contribute to FeTNA initiatives, supporting efforts to preserve and promote Tamil heritage across North America.

  • I have spearheaded innovative programs such as Odi Vilaiyaadu, introducing traditional Tamil sports in the USA to instill cultural pride among the next generation.

  • I actively mentor emerging talent by supporting internships and providing hands‑on learning opportunities for future graduates.

  • I have been invited to mentor students at my high school, impacting nearly 1,000 students, guiding them in education, values, and personal development.

  • My commitment to giving back extends to my alma mater, where I have contributed through educational donations, infrastructure improvements, and support for senior homes by providing food and care for the elderly.

  • At my elementary school, I donated Tamil dictionaries, lunch boxes, water bottles, and coconut saplings to students from Grades 1 to 5, helping nurture both education and environmental awareness. I also supported my high school by contributing to the construction of its compound wall, enhancing student safety and infrastructure.

  • In honor of my father’s connection to his school, I assisted students who had lost their parents by providing school uniforms, ensuring that financial hardship never interrupts their education. I have also donated food on multiple occasions to elderly individuals and families in need, considering it my responsibility to serve those who require support the most.
