My Mastery

A Journey Rooted in Values, Shaped by Education, and Driven by Service

My name is Mahendiran Neelagandan and I am commonly known in our community as MAHI. I currently reside in Cheshire, Connecticut, while my roots trace back to Kothur village in Tiruppatur District, North Tamil Nadu a place that shaped my values, discipline, and deep respect for Tamil culture.

Growing up, I completed my schooling entirely in Tamil medium, which gave me a strong foundation in language, identity, and cultural pride. This early grounding inspired my lifelong commitment to preserving and promoting Tamil language and traditions.

To expand my academic horizons, I pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) from the prestigious Madras Institute of Technology (MIT). I further advanced my education with a Master of Science (M.S.) from BITS Pilani, an MBA from Alagappa University, and an additional M.S. from the University of New Haven. These diverse academic experiences strengthened my analytical thinking, leadership skills, and global outlook.

Professionally, I work in the medical technology field as a Biomedical Engineer, contributing to innovation and solutions that impact patient care and community well‑being. My career has consistently aligned with service, responsibility, and meaningful impact—values I carry into my commitment to CTTS and the Tamil community in Connecticut.

My life is beautifully intertwined with Aruna, my beloved wife—a brilliant Assistant Professor and Electrical Engineer whose grace extends into the medical field. Together, we share a love that has blossomed into three precious gifts: Neel Nilavan, Nile Nila, and Nelli Nilavu, whose laughter fills our hearts with joy. In the serene embrace of Cheshire, Connecticut, we live a story of love, dreams, and togetherness.

Values I Vouch For

My commitment to serving the Tamil community began at a very young age and has continued with the same sincerity and purpose throughout my life. Even in middle school, I actively taught Tamil reading and writing to elderly individuals through the Arivoli Iyakkam literacy movement, helping those who never had the opportunity to learn our language.

From early service to community leadership today, my journey has always been rooted in giving back, empowering others, and strengthening our Tamil identity.
